WHY CHOOSE US?

Our Story

When COVID began in the spring of 2020, Nolan and I were both working at the same afterschool program in Newton, MA. The pandemic sent us scrambling for remote education options. Those first few months in quarantine were experimental, allowing us to test out what would work remotely, and what wouldn’t.

Over time, we became very adept at utilizing Zoom as a platform to deliver remote education. We developed the best technical setups and curriculum for this new frontier in remote education. Soon enough, we had an outstanding collection of enrichment classes offering students from all over the country the ability to gain new creative skills while having a lot of fun doing so.

We offer highly engaging, entertaining, and interactive creative classes in small groups, for children in 2nd through 8th grade. By combining our expertise and passion for creative subjects with the remote education technology offered by Zoom—Creator Kidz was born. Let your children discover their potential as Creator Kidz. Sign up for a free trial class today!

With a passion for music, art, technology, and working with kids, I pride myself on my creative and academic versatility as a teacher. Over the past four years, I have worked with children in grades K – 5th in the Boston area. I have also worked remotely on Zoom with homeschooled children from all over the United States. I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in elementary education from Curry College in Milton, MA. I specialize in English communication skills, Spanish language skills, World Geography, Writing, and the Creative Arts. I relish the opportunity to mold young minds into learning machines! I want to inspire my students to maximize their learning potential and to show them that the process of learning can be really fun too. For my creative arts classes, having the optimal setup to make the students feel as though there is no virtual barrier is key. I always make sure to have a proper overhead camera showing my workspace, or depending on the type of class, a stereo-sound enabled screen share of my iPad screen to be front and center.

Fun facts: I have lived in Spain, Argentina, Italy, and most recently in Tel Aviv, Israel where I spent almost 4 years working in marketing communications for technology startups. In my free time, I would describe myself as an avid cyclist, Boston sports enthusiast, vinyl record collector, artist, music producer, basketball junkie, and international wanderer.

Nolan DeMott

Instructor

Hello! My name is Nolan. I am currently entering my third year at the University of Maryland, majoring in Psychology. I am passionate about education. Over the previous decade have worked with children in various roles including church camp counselor, after school teacher and chess instructor. My love for chess specifically, though, stems not only from its artistic beauty but also how it can reveal so much about someone’s personal life philosophy (aggressive vs. patient; relentless vs. opportunistic). And I strive to inspire my students to discover a similar relatability within the game.

Fun facts: During quarantine, I started a YouTube channel that has over 10,000 subscribers and learned the piano. I consider myself a passionate musician, a stock market enthusiast, and lover of all games.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

The true value of Creator Kidz lies in its live and interactive nature. Our classes offer the ability to ask questions and receive feedback from professional instructors in real time. Children learn best when they can interact with their instructor, rather than simply watching prerecorded video content.

Creative enrichment subjects like art, chess, music, and filmmaking are
undervalued in traditional school settings. There are numerous high-salaried careers in film making, music production, graphic design, UI/UX Design, etc… that require these fundamental creative skills.

For most classes all you will need is a Zoom enabled device with a webcam. However, for the digital arts classes: Garageband for iPad, Digital Painting and iMovie—your child will need two devices. One being an iPad with Garageband, Procreate or iMovie installed, and the other device with Zoom-enabled to be able to participate in the class and view my instructions.

All necessary supplies are listed at the bottom of each Classes course description. For the non-digital arts classes, you can use art supplies that you likely already have in your home.

Classes range from 2-8 students to provide the ideal small class environment conducive to learning.

You will be emailed a Zoom link after registration.

Our classes are held in Eastern Time (USA)

Our services are non-refundable. However, if a class is missed, we will do our best to offer a makeup session or credit towards another class of your choice.

In order to preserve and respect the privacy of our students, we do not record any of our classes. We also do not record them to preserve the value of a live interactive class experience.

Our classes are instructed consecutively and build off each one. Non-digital arts classes meet two times to complete the artwork, while digital arts classes meet six times to complete their respective curriculum. These classes are offered on a reoccurring basis, so be sure to look out for the next session offered if you miss a class.
